Facebook launches website for Hispanics and other minorities learn to program – ElEspectador.com

The CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, Wednesday announced the launch of Tech Prep (https: // Tech Prep .fb.com /), a website that aims to help Hispanics and other minorities to learn programming.

“Today we are launching Tech Prep, a website help people to begin careers in programming “said Zuckerberg in his Facebook wall.

The management of Facebook said the website explains a parents students why it is important to learn to program and what kind of jobs are available for those who develop that knowledge.

The site includes resources to learn programming and stories of people from underrepresented groups technology who have used the resources that includes Facebook in Tech Prep to start careers in the technology sector.

Zuckerberg said that improving diversity in the technology sector is a “great challenge” and stressed the commitment of the company for this purpose.

“Everyone should be able to use the opportunities the Internet creates” , said CEO Company based in Menlo Park (California).

Zuckerberg added that a joint investigation with McKinsey concluded that the US Hispanics and African Americans have few resources at your fingertips to learn programming and said “want change” this situation.
