Music Apple already has 6.5 million paying customers – El Universal (Venezuela)

SAN FRANCISCO Apple was able to capture in three months to 6.5 million paying customers for its new music streaming platform Apple Music.

In addition, about 8.5 million users continue to enjoy three months free use of Apple Music, confirmed the CEO of a multinational computer, Tim Cook said in a conference of “The Wall Street Journal” on Monday.

Apple offered until recently only a pay to download music (iTunes), which at the time was a revolution in the way people consume music. And in June he went into the business of streaming system in which the songs are not downloaded, but listen online. The entry into the market was observed with great interest, since the company has about 800 million customers worldwide.

The multinational based in Cupertino ruled out the option of a free platform financed by advertising inserted and chose to file an Internet radio.

The current market leader, the Swedish Spotify has 20 million paying customers and a total of 75 million if one considers those who use the free mode.

Currently, Apple is in numbers similar to its French competitor Deezer, the figure of around 6.3 million customers position. But recently it became known that the French platform users do not have a steady monthly activity.
