Find map of Middle Earth of Tolkien notes – Terra Colombia

In the store of rare books Blackwells Rare Books in Oxford there is a copy that contains a map of Middle Earth there are annotations, but not of any kind, but emanated from the hand of the author himself: JRR Tolkien.

The copy belonged to the artist Pauline Baynes, who worked with Tolkien to make maps of the place of dreams. While at first their relationship was a bit complicated in the end he ended up quite pleased with what she did.

Currently, the map is on display in Oxford and is for sale for $ 92,000. The notes reveal that Tolkien was so obsessed with the details.

According to Blackwell, “the map is an important document and the finest piece of ephemeral materials come to light in the last 20 years.”
