TOKYO (Reuters) – Apple suppliers are struggling to have enough time to ready for the new iPhone screens 6, after the need to redesign a key component interrupted face production launch expected late next month phone, sources said supply chain.

It is not clear if the interruption will delay the launch of the smart phone or limit the number of devices available to consumers initially, sources said.

Apple is preparing to launch a few iPhones with larger screens after losing market share to rivals who make cheaper phones.

The unexpected highlights the risks and challenges facing providers to meet the tough specifications of Apple. The issue also comes shortly after another problem was solved on the screens of iPhone 6

Two power supply chain said that production of the screens was delayed after the light that helps illuminate the screen had to be revised, braking assembly for part of June and July.

One of the sources said that Apple, which seeks to make the finest possible device, initially wanted a single layer of backlight film, instead of the usual two, for the display of 4.7 inches, which began large-scale production before version 5.5 inch phone.

But the new configuration was not bright enough and the light returned to the drawing boards to install an extra layer, costing precious time and left in the air temporarily some of its assembly operations said the source.

The production is now normal and providers work hard to make up for lost time, the sources said.

Japan Display, Sharp and South Korea’s LG Display have been chosen to make the iPhone 6 screens, the sources said.

The representatives of these three companies, and Apple, rejected with comments.
