Land Rover calls for review in China – La Estrella de Panama

Jaguar Land Rover, violently criticized Chinese state television boxes of alleged defective changes announced Friday that call for review over 36,000 sports cars in this country.

The manufacturer of origin British and currently owned by the Indian group Tata Motors, apologized on Monday, a day after a program on CCTV channel dedicated to consumer rights, which received heavy criticism.

Journalists channel claimed that urban 4×4 Range Rover Evoque range had boxes of defective changes.

“We are going to organize a recall ‘, affecting 36.451 vehicles, and’ present customers our most sincere apologies’ said Jaguar Land Rover on its official microblog Weibo account.

The group has also extended to seven years or 240,000 km warranty on gearboxes.

CCTV program, broadcast every year in mid-March to mark the ‘World Day of consumer rights’ has become a ritual in which often criticized the large multinationals like Apple or McDonald’s.

This year, the program lambasted foreign car manufacturers, including Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz Germans and the Japanese Nissan, claiming that some of their dealers charged too much for repairs.

This salvo of criticism from official media has as a backdrop in China antitrust investigations against some of them.
