The CSIC receives 70 million to avoid bankruptcy - The New Spain

itemprop=”author”> The Government goes to “rescue” the National Research Council (CSIC), with dozens of scientists in the region spread over several sites. The Ministry of Research, Development and Innovation, the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, has approved the granting of an extraordinary credit of 70 million euros for the body to deal with the ‘red’ suffering for three years, driven by ongoing budget cuts. A measure that will allow the continuation of the work of many specialists, at serious risk of paralysis for the past months.

credit approved by the Central Executive adds another 50 million granted by the summer and is a breath of fresh air for many of CSIC researchers do their work in Asturias, concerned all settings suffering since 2010. A situation which led to their participation in several recent protests organized by the scientific community in the region.
