Beijing, 15/01/2015 (The People’s Daily Online) – A asteroid, called 2004 BL86, spend three times the distance from Earth to the Moon on January 26. For its reflected glow, is estimated to be half a kilometer in diameter. The BL86 2004 flyby will be the closest of any space rock known of this size until the asteroid 1999 AN10 pass through the neighborhood of the Earth in 2027.

At the time of its closest approach 26 January, the asteroid will be about 1.2 million kilometers from Earth. “On Monday January 26 will occur closer asteroid 2004 BL86 for at least the next 200 years,” said Don Yeomans, director of the Program Near Earth Object NASA, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena .
