<- Body of note ->

MEXICO CITY (CNNExpansión) – Facebook officially launched a professional version of its social network on Wednesday.

The new application, Facebook At Work, is now available in Apple’s iTunes store, but only in the US, and is expected to spread to other platforms such as Android from Google.

The company has not officially ruled on the matter, although there is already a help site to use the service.

The system basically gives businesses and companies to create corporate profiles within the network to add and maintain communication with their employees in a very similar to the Facebook environment option.

Facebook at Work allows users to exchange messages and share documents using Facebook news page and other features of the original version of the network.

Employees have the ability to build completely new profiles to link to your organization or add to your existing profile to interact with the contents of both platforms: Facebook and Facebook at Work.

The application promises to keep users updated with the most important news of the organization for which they work, while allowing them to create bridges of direct communication with employees around the world to improve productivity and extend collaboration beyond the physical limits of the office.

The work activities not share the user’s personal profile, and baby photos, videos and general banter that are popular version of Facebook for consumers not appear in the professional version, according to Reuters report published last November.

The new social network service competes directly with enterprise collaboration platforms such as Shift IBM, Salesforce, Microsoft’s Yammer, Slack, Convo, Socialcast.
